Fantasy: The Atlas Paradox, The Atlas Book 2, Olivie Blake

Six magicians, the six most powerful magicians of their age, are invited to study for a year at the
prestigious and secretive Alexandrian Society. At the end of that year, if they are admitted as members to
the society, they are to begin a second year of research that will add to the vast collection of information
stored in the archives. Five of them begin this second year. The plan was always for only five to continue:
one of the unspoken requirements of membership is that five of the six determine which one of the group
should be killed, then kill him/her.

But Libby Rhodes was not the one chosen to die. Her murdered body was discovered the night that one
of her classmates was supposed to be killed, meeting the wording of the requirement and allowing the
remaining five to join the society.

Now, in their second year, the five work on their research. Some of that work is for the archive. Some is
to discover just what they have signed up for and whom they have joined with. And some is a desperate
attempt to find Libby Rhodes. Someone had been able to break into the castle, kidnap Libby, create a
realistic simulacrum of a very dead Libby Rhodes, and spirit her away into the unknown. For the
Alexandrian Society has enemies, powerful enemies, and war is coming. Sides will be chosen, lines will
be drawn, and no one can sit this one out.

Olivie Blake writes with passion and craft. The world of the Alexandrian Society is complex. Magical and
technological, self-centered and amoral, the magicians in this story create and break alliances and
hearts, demonstrate a total disregard for others and also an incredible compassion for others. None of
these people are heroes, but neither are they villains. They are complex and vibrant, leaping off the page
with anger and lust and ferocity. I have seldom been so happy to put a book down and realize that is not
the end of the story. A sequel is coming, and I plan to be here for that.
